A seminar on "Healthy behavior of school-age children" survey was held at PHRC (PHOTO)
The Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health (PHRC), with the technical assistance of the World Health Organization (WHO), completed a series of events dedicated to the study and improvement of the health status of schoolchildren. On 16-17 January, a 2-day seminar was held at the PHRC on the experience of the European network of "Schools that promote health promotion". On 18-19 January 2017, a regular seminar was organized in the PHRC with the participation of experts from the WHO Regional Office for Europe. This time the event was devoted to the study of the experience of a global research network studying "Healthy behavior of school-age children".
Welcoming the participants of the event, the Director of the Center, Jeyhun Mammadov, informed the audience about the studies conducted in Azerbaijan among teenage schoolchildren and on the efforts that the Ministry of Health is making to improve the health of children in Azerbaijan. Further on, presentations were made by Deputy Head of the Health and Reform Policy Department of the PHRC Nabil Seidov, Adviser to the WHO Regional Office for Europe Martin Weber, Chief Expert on Public Health Analysis of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Latvia) Iveta Pudl.
During the two-day seminar, the international experience of research in the field of "Healthy behavior of school-age children" was studied and technical issues related to the possibility of Azerbaijan to join this global research network were discussed.
