The first working meeting was held within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the PHRC and the ISS

On 24 January 2017, a meeting was held between the Public Health and Reforms Center (PHRC) Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan, and the delegation from a leading public health institution of Italy - Istituto Superiore di Sanita (ISS) led by Prof Peter Combo. This event was the first meeting within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the ISS and the PHRC in 2016.

The purpose of the MOU is to coordinate, develop and promote scientific research in Environmental Health through a multidisciplinary approach, in order to contribute to a better understanding of hazardous exposures in contaminates areas and related health impacts for improving health of vulnerable population subgroups. Both PHRC and ISS expect that this collaboration will be of mutual benefit and may contribute to an enduring institutional linkage for research, education, co-operation and assistance.
