Country delegates represented results of their efforts on NCD control. Also, a situation on cardiovascular disease, stroke, high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, lung diseases and other non-infectious diseases was discussed.
In addition issues related to implementation of recommendations of the last World Health Assembly held in Geneva were examined. Each participant reported on situation in the area if tobacco control and alcohol use. Also, country experiences were discussed based on The Global Report (2015) information.
The Workshop participants determined main objectives for future. It was noted that in 2018 there will be held a UN High-Level Meeting, dedicated to the fight against NCD so each country will have a chance to report on their achievements and challenges on NCD control.
In 2017, every country will present a report on their NCD related activities to the WHO's Director-General. Based on that information a summary report will be presented to the UN General Assembly by the end of 2017.
