The Annual project workshop on the “Health Promoting Schools” (SHE) was held in Moscow
3-4 October 2019 annual meeting of national coordinators of the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia under the project "Health promoting schools" (SHE) was held in Moscow.
The main purpose of the meetings jointly organized by the Regional Office for Europe of World Health Organization (WHO) and the Russian Federation was to support the activities of the national coordinators of the Health Promoting Schools (SHE) project. Sabina Babazade, Head of the Project Coordination Department of PHRC of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan attended the two-day seminar.
During the meetings the joint action plan of the SHE project for Eastern Europe and Central Asia for 2019-2020 was reviewed, and also the results of the works carried out for the creation of a healthy environment and well-being in schools were discussed, the successes were highlighted and experiences were shared. National coordinators made presentations at the workshop and briefed participants on the progress made and results achieved in schools included in the network of “Health promoting schools” throughout the country. At the end, individual meetings, debates were held with national coordinators, and made an exchange of views on future prospects.
WHO-supported “Health Promoting Schools” network has become an integral part of WHO's health and education policy in 45 countries in the European region. Azerbaijan has been a member of this network since 2017. The main objective of the network is to promote health in schools, ensure the normal physical development of students and contribute to the protection of children's health.
