PHRC representative attends regional meeting in Tashkent
On 3-4 December 2018, was held regional meeting of experts by the organization of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Office for Central Asia in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Head of Population Health Department of the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan Tofig Musayev attended trainings held within the frame of the meeting.
Trainings held on “Increasing access to controlled drugs for medical and scientific purposes” focused on the issues relating to the international practice on identification, assessment and prevention of side effects of controlled drugs, as well as priority areas leading to the work with controlled medicines.
Within the framework of the event, T. Musayev made presentations on “Overview of access to controlled medicines in Azerbaijan” and “Key elements for expanding the availability and accessibility of controlled medicines”.
He emphasized that, the legal and organizational principles of dealing with medicines and medical facilities in Azerbaijan are defined by the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On medicines” and other legislative acts.
Experts also exchanged views on local, regional and international experiences.
