Educational event on "Main risk factors of non-communicable diseases (NCDs)" held in Aghstafa

An educational event on "Main risk factors of non-communicable diseases (NCDs)" was held at Heydar Aliyev Center in Aghstafa on October 16, 2018. The event was attended by the medical staff of central hospital, maternity hospital of Aghstafa, high-school students of secondary schools No. 1, 2, 3 and technical-humanitarian lyceum.

Representative of Aghstafa District Executive Authority Shahhuseyn Gurbanov and head of Agstafa Regional House of Knowledge Leyla Isayeva said that, such educational events play an important role on building a healthy society.

Methodist-physician of the Public Health and Reforms Center (PHRC) of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan Latafat Dadashova gave a detailed information to the participants about four main types of NCDs including cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic respiratory disease, and diabetes.

According to her, it’s necessary to maintain an active lifestyle from an early age, engage in physical education and sports, eat right, avoid from the main risk factors of NCDs - alcohol, cigarettes and drugs.

At the end of the event, there was conducted exchange of opinions on NCDs prevention and promotion of healthy lifestyle and educational materials prepared by PHRC were distributed to the participants.
