PHRC specialist participated at the 9th Global Conference on Health Promotion in Shanghai
The 9th Global Conference on Health Promotion, co-organized by WHO and the National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People’s Republic of China in Shanghai on 21–24 November, provided an unprecedented opportunity to reassert the significance of health promotion in improving health and health equity at the historical moment of 30 years anniversary of Ottawa Charter, and the first year of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The conference highlighted that each nation raise the awareness of a shared global community, that health promotion should be a key part of sustainable development and that a cooperation mechanism that is multi-layered and widely covered should be built.
During the four days of conference, attendees participated in the opening ceremony, 6 plenary sessions, the healthy cities mayors' forum, and 30 parallel sessions, sharing health promotion experience and practice across different countries and regions, and conducting deep exchanges about global health work.
The Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health (PHRC), Azerbaijan was represented by the Deputy Head of the Health Policy and Reforms Department Dr. Nabil Seyidov.
