PHCR representatives attended CINDI Academy training in Moscow
On September 26-27, 2016 the capital of Russian Federation Moscow city was hosting a training on “Integrated Epidemiological Surveillance of Noncommunicable Diseases” organized by CINDI (Countrywide Integrated Noncommunicable Diseases Intervention) Academy and the European Regional Office of the World Health Organization. The event was attended by Gahraman Hagverdiyev- the Head of the Monitoring and Analysis Department of the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health and Samir Mehdiyev-the Manager of the Department. The two day training aimed to inform and empower all participants to improve their national NCD surveillance systems and offered an opportunity to understand different aspects of NCD monitoring and surveillance mechanisms and has given an overview of available tools. The training provided not only capacity building activities, but also served as a platform for the discussion of progress and achievements in implementing the European Action Plan for Implementation of the European Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases 2012–2016 and the United Nations Political Declaration of the High-level Meeting of the General Assembly on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases. The participants have stressed out that further cooperation of all member countries is a priority in combating Noncommunicable Diseases.
