The event on the organization of a study on assessing the need for palliative care in Azerbaijan was held in PHRC
On September 16, 2016, a methodical training for interviewers was held at the Public Health and Reform Center of the Ministry of Health in regard to setting the study on assessing the needs for palliative care in Azerbaijan. This training is the second preparatory activity of the PHRC in the framework of the project to assess the needs for palliative care, which should be completed by the end of 2016. The first preparatory event took place on August 22 this year.
At the event, Nabil Seyidov, Deputy Head of the Health Policy and Reforms Department of the Public Health and Reform Center, and Ayshem Balayeva, a sociologist from PHRC touched upon the important organizational aspects of the study, and also noted the subtleties specific to the topic of palliative care.
Nabil Seyidov noted that this study will be held in eight regions of Azerbaijan and is focused to interview leaders of selected medical institutions, doctors, medical personnel, as well as patients and their relatives.
At the end of the meeting the speakers answered the questions of the participants of the event.
