Blood donation event organized by PHRC in Absheron district, Baku

On November 19, 2015 a blood donation event, jointly organized by the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health (PHRC), the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan Republic, the Central Blood Bank at the Scientific Research Institute of Hematology and Transfusion named after B.Eyvazov and Absheron District Executive Power, was held in the Absheron District Child Health Center, Baku. The campaign is aimed to support people born with hereditary blood disorders like thalassemia and hemophilia, and draw public attention to the issue.

The event attracted a huge public interest. The collected blood will be donated to the Central Blood Bank to help in treatment of people with thalassemia and hemophilia.
