Workshop on international practice in applying the new live birth definitions held at PHRC

On November 18, 2015 a workshop on applying the new live birth criteria was held at the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health (PHRC). The workshop, held in cooperation with the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), was based on the international practice and attended by neonatologists, pediatricians, emergency physicians, and PHRC staff members.

A special guest to the event, Alla Kurtyanu, international expert at UNICEF, delivered a presentation about interventions and measures in applying the new live birth criteria in Moldova and other European countries. The expert highlighted the importance of health communication in the view of introduction of the new live birth definitions.
