Health experts from Azerbaijan participated at the international conference in Tbilisi
From June 23 to 25, 2015 a conference focused on maternal and child healthcare related issues, achievements, challenges and solutions in the South Caucasus region and Turkey was held in the capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi.
The conference is aimed at strengthening clinical governance for better maternal health outcomes in the South Caucasus region and Turkey.
Organized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the conference gathered health care professionals and officials from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, as well as representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) and other international organizations. The Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health (PHRC), Azerbaijan was represented by Tohfa Jamilova, Afat Mammadova and Teymur Huseynov.
At the end of the conference an action plan was elaborated and guidelines were adopted for further improvement and strengthening of maternal and child health care in the region.
