PHRC experts took part in the international training course on "Public Health Emergency Management" in Turkey
On March 23-27, 2015 the international training course on "Public Health Emergency Management" was held at the Emergency Training Centre of the Ministry of Health of Turkey in the city of Izmir, Turkey. The training, organized by the World Health Organization, brought together public health managers from Turkey, Lebanon, Palestine, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Kosovo, Moldova, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. Azerbaijan was represented by Deputy Director of the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health (PHRC) Rahib Mammadov and supervising physician of PHRC Teymur Huseynov.
At the training session presentations on the UN and WHO approaches to public health emergency and the design of national courses on this topic, combating non-communicable diseases and environment and water resources protection were made. Also, views on such issues as reproductive health, maternal and child health, emergency management, emergency health care services and risk management were exchanged.
As part of the training course, the participants were also introduced to emergency health care system in Izmir and gained practical experience by taking part in the emergency simulation at the training center.
