Educational events on "Let's say no to domestic violence!" held

Public Health and Reforms Center (PHRC) of the Ministry of Health, with  support of the Ministry of Science and Education conducted numerous joint public education works among the young generation in March-April of this year.

Awareness-raising activities on health protection and prevention of domestic violence were carried out at secondary schools numbered 37, 112, 216, 262, 290, Baku State Vocational Training Center for Tourism and Social Services, Baku State Vocational Education Center for Public Catering and Service, Baku State Vocational Education Center for Techniques and Technologies, Baku State Vocational Education Center for Communication and Information Technologies, Baku State Vocational Education Center for Industry and Innovations.

 

Deputy head of the Training-resource department of PHRC Parvin Guliyeva and methodologist, doctor Afat Mammadova made a presentation and gave detailed information about violence, domestic violence, types of violence against children and protection mechanisms, cyberbullying (cyber violence). They also drew attention to the fact that, wide educational campaigns are conducted for the purpose of eliminating the situations that lead to domestic violence by health workers in the capital and regions.

The event provided an opportunity to discuss suggestions and exchange ideas.

Besides, educational materials prepared and published by PHRC were distributed to the participants and interested questions were answered.
