Representative of the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health attends training on “Biorisk awareness and biorisk mitigation" in Georgia

Training on “Biorisk awareness and biorisk mitigation" within the frame of the European Union Initiative on Health Security of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) was held in Tbilisi, Georgia on November 28-30, 2023. The event was organised in cooperation with the Georgian National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol). Representative of the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health also attended the event.

These three-day trainings provided a unique opportunity to raise awareness and exchange knowledge on biorisk management and strategy, characterization and analysis of biosecurity risks. As well as, presentations of international experts were heard and experts' questions were answered.

Note that, the EU Initiative on Health Security aims to set up a regional workforce responsible for the prevention and control of challenges posed by communicable diseases and enhance regional cooperation to tackle cross-border health security threats in EU candidate countries and potential candidate and European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) partner countries.
