Campaign dedicated to the 100th anniversary of academician Zarifa Aliyeva held

Campaign on "Diabetes and eye diseases" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of academician Zarifa Aliyeva was held by the Public Health and Reforms Center (PHRC) of the Ministry of Health together with Khazar region Executive Power.

The purpose of the campaign organized for residents of Khazar district is to raise awareness among population about diabetes and its complications.

 Within the framework of the campaign, the participants were invited to preliminary examinations (determination of blood glucose level and eye examination).

It was emphasized that, diabetes is a chronic, metabolic disease characterized by elevated levels of blood glucose (or blood sugar). Over time, it can damage the body's organs, especially eyes.

There was given an information on proper and balanced nutrition and encouraged to stay away from smoking and other harmful habits, and to choose a healthy lifestyle. Within the frame of the campaign, participants were acquainted with educational materials prepared by PHRC.
