27 JANUARY 2021
"Hotline" service on refusal to smoke will be available
Tobacco is one of the main causes of death in the world. According to estimates, as a result of tobacco diseases, more than 8 million people die every year, one million of them is passive tobacco, which breathes around with tobacco smoke. While the tobacco epidemic in the 20th century put an end to the lives of 100 million people around the world, 1 billion people are expected to die from tobacco in the 21st century.
Let's not forget that most people do not smoke. And most smokers have a desire to give up this habit – they smoke mainly because of the dependence on nicotine, which is present in tobacco products, and not at their own discretion.
The Public Health and Reform Center of the Ministry of Health will launch a special “hot line” for the population on the refusal of tobacco on February 1, 2021 in order to support and help those who want to give up tobacco. People who are addicted to tobacco and want to give up smoking will receive professional medical and psychological advice by calling.
