PHRC team members participated in capacity building trainings for social workers
As a result of the socially oriented policy pursued by the government of Azerbaijan, in recent years significant improvements on the population’s well-being have been achieved.
One of the important steps taken by the government is the creation of the new “social worker” model based on international experience.
With the aim of achieving the goal the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has started the implementation of the European Union’s Twinning Project "Development of social service provision" in Azerbaijan.
The new "social worker" model allows taking adequate decisions and resolving problems during the provision of basic social services by determining social and psychological needs of the recipients and ensuring their access to social services and therefore achieving their normal integration into society.
During the training the following topics were covered: "Training methods and systematized approach," "Domestic violence", "Elderly", "Reintegration into society of the incarcerated offenders”, "Families and children".
Employees of District (City) Social Protection Centers and Social Research and Training Center of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, officers of the Assistance to Victims of Human Trafficking Centre, representatives from Public Health and Reforms Center (PHRC), teachers from different higher educational facilities and individuals from NGOs participated in the trainings.
