PHRC summarized the activity on improving maternal and child health within the framework of joint Ministry of Health and UNICEF Action Plan

Since the introduction of the new live birth criteria in Azerbaijan on January 1, 2015, activities on  improving maternal and child health, reducing matenal and child mortality, providing comprehensive and accessible health care service to children and women continue up till now.

Thus, on November 18, 2015 a workshop on applying the new live birth criteria was held at the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health (PHRC). In accordance with the “State Program on improving mother and child health for 2014-2020” and the Action Plan signed between the Ministry of Health and the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Country Office, PHRC was aligned with implementation of these activities. The activities covered development of communication strategy plan, monitoring of obstetrical care services, and development, design and print of information materials to prevent anemia.
