PHRC specialists represented Azerbaijan at international health forums in Turkey
Supported by Turkish Evidence-Based Medicine Association, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Social Welfare of the Republic of Turkey, the 4th Health Technology Assessment International forum, the 1st Eurasian Health Technology Assessment Forum, and the 2nd Evidence-Based Medicine Symposium took place in Ankara, Turkey’s capital, on March 12-13, 2015.
The forum and symposium brought together healthcare professionals from Turkey, the Netherlands, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Great Britain, France and Germany. Azerbaijan was represented by Public Health and Reforms Center (PHRC) specialists Shahla Ismayilova and Nabil Seyidov. In the country presentations session PHCR specialists reported about the activities carried out in Azerbaijan on applying the latest advances in health technology and developing evidence-based approach in medicine.
These international forums and symposium served as an important platform for exchange of best practices and knowledge on evidence-based medicine between countries of Europe and Central Asia. Azerbaijan has achieved a significant progress in promoting evidence-based medicine over the past eight years; in particular, 90 clinical practice guidelines and practical recommendations, developed by PHRC, are now widely used in diagnosis and treatment by physicians at public health centers in the country.
