Campaign on "Reduce your risk of stroke!" organized at Azerbaijan University of Languages

On October 27, 2023, Public Health and Reforms Center (PHRC) of the Ministry of Health together with the Youth and sports sector of Nasimi district of Baku City Youth and Sports Department have organized an educational campaign on "Reduce your risk of stroke!".

The purpose of the action held on the eve of October 29 - World Stroke Day was to inform population about the main risk factors and symptoms of stroke, to call everyone, including young people to be vigilant against stroke.

It was stated that, stroke is an acute violation of blood circulation that leads to damage to a certain area of ​​the brain. At the campaign attended by the teachers and students, participants were informed on symptoms of stroke.

It was also emphasized that, the most common symptoms to look out for are blurred vision, slurred speech, muscle weakness when in other ways feeling well, memory impairment, dizziness or loss of balance, sudden severe headache with no known cause and etc. If anyone notices these signs in themselves or another person, they should seek emergency medical attention.

Educational talks were conducted with participants and it was recommended to switch to a healthy lifestyle and nutrition, to get rid of bad habits and to consult a doctor in case of health problems. As well as, participants were acquainted with educational materials published by PHRC.
