Educational event and campaign on "Let's say no to domestic violence!" held in Salyan

Community representatives and local residents have participated in the educational events organized on October 19-20, 2023 with the joint cooperation of the Public Health and Reforms Center (PHRC) of the Ministry of Health and Salyan District Executive Authority.

Chief adviser of Socio-Political and Humanitarian Affairs Department of Salyan District Executive Power Azizaga Yagubov made an introductory speech and said that the purpose of the event is to prevent negative legal and social consequences caused by violence, as well as to educate society in the direction of eliminating situations that cause domestic violence.

Head of the Health Communication Department of PHRC Laura Guliyeva emphasized the importance of purposeful and preventive measures that promote ways to protect against harmful habits and violence. She also drew attention to the fact that, wide educational campaigns are conducted for the purpose of eliminating the situations that lead to domestic violence by health workers in the capital and regions.

Head of the Public Health Department of PHRC Tofig Musayev made a presentation and gave detailed information about violence, domestic violence, types of domestic violence, protection mechanisms, existing legislative acts on preventing and combating domestic violence in our country.

The event provided an opportunity to discuss suggestions and exchange ideas.

Besides, campaign on "Let's say no to domestic violence!" was held with the participation of local residents and volunteers and educational materials prepared and published by PHRC were distributed to the participants.
