PHRC holds another event within the frame of “Health Promoting Schools” international project
The Schools for Health in Europe Network Foundation (SHE) focuses on making school health promotion an integral part of policy development in the health and education sector in EU 45 member states. SHE encourages each member country to develop and implement a national policy on school health promotion, building on the experiences within the country, within Europe and globally.
Public Health and Reforms Center (PHRC) of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues educational measures within the frame of “Health Promoting Schools” international project.
The next meeting was held at full secondary school No. 5 on October 9, 2018. Head of the Health Policy and Reforms Department Shahla Mirzazada and methodist-physician of PHRC Latafat Dadashova made a presentation on “Complications of harmful habits: The main causes of aggressive behavior” in front of audience of pupils and teachers.
L.Dadashova discussed bad habits and their negative impact on human's' health and warned about serious consequences might be arisen in the future. According to the speaker, bad habits, especially cigarette smoking harms nearly every organ of the body, causes many diseases as chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs), cardiovascular diseases and negatively impacts human psychology. According to her, regular physical activity improves the quality of daily life, develops a sense of responsibility, increases ability to manipulate senses and provides flexibility.
Shahla Mirzazada emphasized the importance of promoting a healthy lifestyle, developing sustainable healthy behaviors.
Talking about the most important psychological factors contributing to adolescent harmful behaviors Sh. Mirzazade noted that, prevention and fighting against harmful behaviors should start with family and school, as well, attention should be drawn to the variability of behaviour of the adolescents.
At the end of the event, there was full exchange of views and participants were acquainted with educational materials prepared by PHRC.
