«Raising Public Awareness on Reproductive Health Issues» Project UPDATED: 31 MARCH 2015

The Public Health and Reforms Center (PHRC) gets starting in 2015 the four-month Project « Raising Public Awareness on Reproductive Health Issues». The project is supported by the UN Population Fund Office (UNFPA) in Azerbaijan.

The Project is foreseeing use of the www.saglamliq.isim.az resources - health education portal, created by PHRC in 2014. This portal aimed on informing the population on most sensitive health issues, especially those related to diseases prevention and raising sanitary education of the people. The goal of the joint PHRC-UNFPA Project is to mobilize these resources toward enhancing awareness of population on reproductive health issues, decreasing of the behavioral risks regarding maternal health, enhancing reproductive age women’s knowledge about importance of timely visits for the antenatal, perinatal and postnatal care providers, as well as highlighting specific issues related to the prevention of selective abortions and gender based violence.

The content of the www.saglamliq.isim.az electronic portal will be regularly renewed by the up-to-date and evidence-based recommendations. For this purpose, during the Project informational/educational materials obtained from UNICEF, UNFPA, WHO, CDC, NICE and other international organizations who have reliable expertise in the area of Reproductive Health, Family Planning, and Gender based Violence Prevention will be translated into Azerbaijani and adapted for the use of population.
