Baku holds bike ride devoted to World Health Day

Bike racing was held on April 7, 2019 with the support of the Center for Public Health and Reforms of the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation and the Republican Olympic Cycling School.

In connection with World Health Day, a bike ride was held by the organization of the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Health and World Health Organization (WHO) and support of Cycling Federation of Azerbaijan and Republican Olympic Bicycle School at Velopark on April, 2019.

A bike ride was organized with the initiative of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources under the motto "Less cars, more life".

Representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, State Security Service, State Customs Committee, State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, Baku Transport Agency, Azerigaz and students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University were also in attendance.

Head of Azerbaijan Office of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Hande Harmanci noted that, World Health Day is celebrated worldwide.

According to the one of the organizers of the action, head of the Project coordination department of PHRC Sabina Babazade, today we are celebrating two remarkable days - April 6 - World Physical Activity Day, April 7 - World Health Day.

Note that, since 1950, World Health Day has been celebrated on the 7th of April of each year. The objective of World Health Day is to raise global awareness of a specific health.
