PHRC representative took part in an awareness raising event organized for students of Nizami district schools

An awareness raising event organized by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs  and Nizami District Executive Power was held in Baku secondary school No. 12 on July 20, 2016

During the event the PHRC specialist Nargiz Karimova thoroughly informed the participating adolescents and teenagers about harmful habits and the importance of healthy lifestyle and how to acquire healthy life style habits in daily life etc.

Implemented in accordance with the paragraphs 4.2 and 4.4 of the Ministry of Health Strategy for the years 2014-2020 and congruent Action Plan  of the Ministry the event attended by students and teachers of several schools located in Nizami district. 

The event was of great interest for the participants as the speaker highlighted many important adolescent issues including: tobacco and drug addiction, sexually transmitted infections, hepatitis B, C, and HIV infection and other topics of concern. Alongside with those the importance of public awareness activities for health protection emphasized and particular attention was given to prevention of excessive use of alcohol and finally the importance of physical activity was stressed out.

Later speaker gave tips and recommendations for people who are prone to various diseases and answered the questions from participants. At the end of the event educational materials produced by PHRC were distributed to the participants of the event.
